Fall is in the Air

I've noticed recently that the leaves are starting to fall and soon the trees will be covered with brilliant yellows, oranges and reds. Fall is one of my favorite times of year, along with winter. I acutally love the cold and wished it would snow more here (I know, you guys that get really cold weather and get tons of snow think I'm crazy! hee hee). Every so often we will get a good snow and I am hoping that this year will be an exception as we will be in the new house and I can only imagine how beautiful the woods and lake will look with a covering of snow!
I got a few Christmasy projects to share. First is a set of tags that I did in a red and ivory theme. I covered the snowflake tag with a quilted fabric then distressed with ink and sewed around the edges. The snowflake is a sizzix die cut with white felt that I painted slightly and glittered with stickles. I covered the snowman tag with a cavas fabric and inked around the edges. I added some corrugated cardstock (which I distressed with paint) and antique lace and stitched around the edges. The snowman is a sizzix die cut from felt and painted the hat and arms with acrylic paint and cut extra pieces of red felt for the hat and scarf and machine stitched around those. Then I lightly painted the snowman with paint to distress it and added some stickles.

I was cutting some trees out of chipboard and noticed who cool the negative parts was and immediately I started thinking what could I do with it? So, I made it into a tag. I recut the tree using Melissa Frances papers and adhered to the front and cut a backing with a different MF paper so it would show through the cutout. I distressed with some acrylic paint and then glittered the center of the tree and sewed around the edges. I glittered the flower and painted some jute and tied it around the top and added a button.

And lastly, I got this cute sizzix owl die and couldn't wait to make something with it. I cut the owls out of chipboard, then again out of felt and added a little felt belly. The eye backing is glitter paper and the eyes and nose is painted chipboard. I cut the hat out of felt and stitched around it so it would stand out a little more. I painted the branch, then covered with german glass glitter.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Oooooh! I love the little snowflake and snowman tags! Too cute! And I'm with you girlfriend...fall it THE best! I was just saying how ready I am for the crisp cool days of fall. As for snow...I would love a nice, huge snowfall that lasts for 3-4 days and then be gone. I can only take a few days of being couped up...but 3-4? That would be nice. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Annette! How are you doing, girl? I have to say that I've been noticing a slight shift in the weather lately, too. Of course these last few days have been flipping hot, but I have noticed it getting dark a bit earlier at night. A sure sign that Fall is coming.
I absolutely LOVE all your tags. I am also so amazed that amount of love and detailing you put into everything you do. Gorgeous, gorgeous stuff!
