It's a Great Day!

Why is it a great day - because they are spraying the insulation in the new house today - YAY! You couldn't imagine how much stuff accumulates in house when you are building it so we spent some time yesterday cleaning and moving everything to the center of the rooms so they could get their hoses in and spray. It was a great feeling when I left yesterday, knowing the next time I saw the house that it would look a little different and we would be one step closer to completing it. Next step will be the HVAC and duct work, which Terry and a friend will do and seeing that is what he does for a living it shouldn't take him too long, he says about two days tops.
Terry is still holding on to the last two puppies, who aren't puppies anymore as they are 4 months old now. The guy who we keep hoping will take one keeps changing his mind and Terry wants to catch him on a good day when he is in the "yes" mode! He is a great guy who had to have his dog put to sleep last month month and he says he is ready but we will just have to keep our fingers crossed that he takes one, maybe both of them? hee hee! If not, I'll be making a "free puppy" sign and Terry will head out to Tractor Supply early one morning and see if he can find them a good home, at least one of them. He really wants to keep the tan puppy that looks like the "Marley and Me" dog so we might end up with 5 dogs, yikes! The people who took the other tan dog had a DNA test done and even though the mom is sheppard, the two tan puppies are 99% golden retriever. There were three different dads and only three of the puppies got her genes, Kaila being one of them - my sweet little puppy!

I have a few crafty projects to share, all tags for now. I made some cards yesterday and took some photos last night but they were too dark so I'll take them to the property tomorrow and get some better photos and post them later in the week.
The first is a set of whimsical tags I made using another Sizzix die. As soon as I saw the die I knew I wanted to make something whimsy. I used MME papers and wrapped some tinsel around the chipboard topper to make a ball for the top of the hat.

Next are some tags I made using a pumpkin punch with orange paper, then covered the pumpkin with glue and glittered with Martha Stewart Fire Opal and then added some yellow glitter paper to the back. The stars are Making Memories Spellbound clear stamps and I sewed around the little square, which surprisingly wasn't too hard. I added some foam tape and adhered to a backing, which is MME paper punched with a scallop punch. I found some black waxed twine in my stash that I bought years ago, not sure why I bought it but it worked great for the hang tie part. The photo is a little blurry but if you click on it, you can see them better.

I didn't want to focus on all holiday things so I made some Thank you tags using one of my favorites, Melissa Frances. I cut the tag out of lightweight chipboard, then covered with MF papers and sewed around the edges. (I can't seem to make anything without bringing out my sewing machine). The butterflies are Maya Road, which I painted light pink and distressed and then added some German Glass Glitter, another one of my favorite products. The ticket and rub-on are also both MF.

These are some tags I made using a wooden crown, which I covered with MME papers and outlined with glitter. The sweet crochet flowers were made by a very good friend of mine that lives in WA that I have known for 30 years. Sometimes she just makes them and sends them in the mail and surprises me, thanks again so much Jennifer!

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!
