Kaila's Pool

It has been so warm here that I brought out the little pool for the dogs. Last year Kaila was the only one interested in it, now her two brothers, Bob and Marley discovered that they like the water too. Sometimes there is a little competition on who get's to lay down in the water but they seem to work it out and after a little growling, then everyone is happy. The water stays clean for about 5 minutes, then it gets muddy as the grass isn't thick yet. Once the grass fills in, instead of the water being muddy, it will be grassy. The dogs do running jumps into the water, it is so funny! We will definitely be getting a bigger pool this year for them as they just love it!

And, along with the warm water it brought out the snakes. We have a black snake who I call Mr. Black, he's about 5 1/2-6 ft long, and a couple of king snakes, who we call Mr. and Mrs. King, that hang around the wood pile and under the guinea pen. I got this photo last week when Mr. Black was out for the first time since last year. They don't bother me too much as long as I know where they are so when I am over in that area, I walk a little slower and look around before I go near it. This is the same place that the rattlesnake was last year, hopefully I won't see one of those! The good thing about having the king snakes around is that they will keep copperheads away, even kill and eat them.

I have been going to the house almost every day for the past 2-3 weeks, painting and doing some gardening. I got 28 tomatoes planted and waiting for Terry to make me another raised bed so I can plant some squash and peppers. Can't wait to pick my first tomato this year, slice it up and make a tomato sandwich, yum!!
I don't have alot of crafty things to share as I haven't had much time to craft but I have started working on some projects in the mornings before I leave. Today I am staying home and playing in my craft room, a much needed break!
These are wood embellishments I got from the craft store that I covered with Melissa Frances papers. Everything is wood except for the frame, which is Tattered Angels that I painted and sprayed with Glimmer Mist.

The tags and card were both embellished with Brenda Walton papers and die cuts, I'm still in love with the Madeline collection. I also used some lace, adhesive pearls and seam binding.

I came home yesterday to find a package on my doorstep, new Melissa Frances products! I ordered them the very morning Emma's Paperie listed them, I have been waiting for months for this new collection and I can't wait to use them!

Oh, and I have some news, we finally got the Certificate of Occupancy on the house! Now we are just waiting to get our taxes back so we can get carpet, flooring and other needed items to make it livable. Terry turned on the water to the toilets and the kitchen sink, it was so nice to have running water finally! We still have alot to do before we get the carpet but hopefully everything will come together and we can finally move in the next few months (before it gets too hot!)
As for the shooting range, it got put on hold for a few months so they can do an environmental study, at least we don't have to worry about that for awhile.

Hope you have a wonderful week, thanks for stopping by!
Annette

I'm so intimidated about covering chip board and wood - but you do it beautifully! I just love seeing what you've been up to! Have fun at the house! :)

Beautiful creation Annette!

Great pics! Snakes don't usually bother me, but then we only have the little two foo garter snakes...I'm not sure how I'd feel about a 6ft snake!

Hey there, Annette! Sounds like you have been super busy at the house. Love that you planted 28 tomatoes! I am proud of myself for just planting 1! I'm trying out that funny Topsy Turvy planter that grows the plants upside down. Have you seen those? Love that photo of the dogs in the pool. Does look like a tight squeeze for 3 of them. No wonder there was some growling. ;) I had a black rat snake out at the old house, too. always was under my air conditioning unit on the side of the house. He was huge! Sometimes, I'd find him in my garage.
Love your crafty project. You do such cute things with wooden pieces and with tags. I don't know how you manage to get so much detail on such a tiny space.

Annette your creations are beautiful. Love the soft pink colors! And your doggies look so happy!!! And tell Mr. Black I said "hi" : ) We've got a black snake that lives in our hay barn, as long as he's there we don't have copperheads or mice, so we have a working relationship!
