I made this card for Moxie Fab World Woodsy Christmas challenge. We had four different themes to pick from and I chose the owl theme. I had a set of the Maya Road chipboard ATC owls so I thought that would be a perfect base for me to start. I cut out a bunch of different sized felt feathers and colored the edges with tombow markers, and also left some of them white. (I wanted it to look like a snow owl so that is what I was going for)! I made the eyes starting with a felt circle base, then cut a strip of fake fur and did a running stitch and pulled it tight into a circle and adhered it to the felt base. I cut a small piece yellow felt and gave it a little more orange with a watercolor pencil. When dry, I cut out the eyes then adhered to black felt and trimed, then used my Big bite for the pupils. I used a mini glue dot on the end of each feather and started adhering to my base. On the picture of the snow owl they had some fluffy fleathers on their chest and also their feet so I added a little bit more fake fur in those areas, not sure if I added enough though but I like how it turned out.
For the card, I cut four pieces of lightweight chipboard, covered them with some white swirl embossed paper and sewed around the edges. I attached them together with brass hinges and white brads. I found a twig outside and covered it with some mod podge and let dry and then adhered it to the card with some jute, which I tied on the inside. The bookplate was also brass and I painted it white, then printed the "Peace on Earth" on white cardstock. I attached it to the card with some glue dots and white twine. I added the greenery, beads, pinecones and some stickles highlights to finish the card.

These little santas are oldies that I had. Another one of my items for my craft's fair I never did!! Their bodies look like a big thumb, made from fabric and stuffing and the arms and legs are wire. They were alot of fun to make but time consuming. I have a basket of unfinished ones and they are not looking too good at getting finished anytime soon!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
